A very traditional brazilian dish!
Ingredients
- 500g of white beans
- 4 vegetarian spicy sausages sliced
- 100g of soy beaf hydrated and cutted in medium pieces
- 1 big onion chopped
- 2 medium tomatos chopped
- 1 big green capiscum
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 bunch of mint
- salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon of paprika
- 2 tablespoons of dried basil
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 4 bay leafs
- 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
- 600 ml of water
Directions
Put the beans resting into the water overnight, this will help to eliminate the phytic acid, this will avoid you feel stodgy after eat it. Discard the water.
Cook the beans to cook with the bay leafs and 500ml water or water enough to cover the beans for 30 minutes. The time can be bigger or smaller according to your stove. Reserve it.
During this time you will prepare the second part of the dish. In a frying pan put olive oil to fry the garlic, onion and the mint until brown. Then add salt, paprika, black pepper, dried basil and mix very well. Then add the tomatoes, capiscum and let it cook for 5 minutes.
Finally add the sausage and the soy and let it cook for about 20 min, add water if necessary.
Add the sausage and soy cooked in the herbs into the beans and cook until boil. Add the vinegar and it is done. Serve it with white rice.
